In order to fulfill our mission statement, “To transform every willing person into a growing and committed follower of Jesus Christ”, the Golden Gate Missionary Baptist Church is focusing its attention and efforts on the needs of its members and community who are experiencing emotionally impairments coupled with spiritual frustration. Members who have experienced a phase of life’s discomforts, loss of significant others, adjustment disorders, depression, marital/family discord, and or substance abuse have been referred to “secularly oriented counselors for help during their periods of crises. Unfortunately, little if any attention has been given to the spiritual nature of the individual. Consequently, the “Gate” has become more aware of its need to develop the believer spiritually as well as emotionally, socially, and physically, thereby ministering to the whole creature of God.
It is time to move the cheese and reach out to God’s people where they are today. Not judging, pronouncing sentencing or executing, but instead doing “Even Greater Things for Jesus Christ” working through us. This compassion, this assistance will be provided in the form of Christian Counseling Ministry here at Golden Gate Missionary Baptist Church.

When the storms of life are raging, stand by Me. There are many storms brewing across this country, as well as in our personal lives and in our relationships. We are enslaved by circumstances and situations we have no control over. We are enslaved by our own expectations and expectations of others. We live in a state of chronic frustration because of the significant other, society, children, in-laws, peers and the daily grind. The human emotion can only balance so much before STRESS takes it's toll.
What does the scripture say, " Let not your heart be troubled; ye believe God, believe also in me. In my Father’s house are many mansions; if it were no so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto Myself; that where I am, there ye may be also."
