Deacon's Ministry
The purpose of the Deacons Ministry at Golden Gate is to assist the Pastor as consecrated servants of the Lord and the congregation in promoting the Great Commission and providing an atmosphere of unity and love.
Deacons’ Responsibilities
1. To assist the pastor in accomplishing the church’s Mission Statement.
2. To assist the pastor in the general administration of the financial resources of the church, giving guidance to the Trustees and Business Manager as needed.
3. To handle visitations of new, potential and current members of the congregation.
4. To assist the pastor in serving the ordinances of the church.
5. To distribute the benevolence to the needy.
6. To assist the pastor in handling crisis management issues.
7. To serve as devotional and worship leaders as needed.
8. To support the pastor in any way that will advance the cause of the kingdom and the health of the church.
Organizational Relationships
Deacons are appointed by the pastor and approved by the congregation. They are responsible to the pastor for the implementation of their duties.
