Prayer in The Homes Ministry History

The Prayer in the Homes Ministry began in August 2002. Our attendance was poor during the first two years; interest in this endeavor was poor. The Prayer in the Homes Ministry Team members decided that we did not want to be defeated in this venture. We didn’t want to let go! So we decided that we would fast and prayer on Wednesdays in the month of October. Our focus was to let God give the increase he desired us to have in attendance during the coming year.

Our attendance for Prayer in the Homes has continued to increase since 2004. It has increased even more since our team decided to solicit area coordinators. Sis. Eunice Finney contacted the following persons:
Zelma Batie Obie Bussey Darlene and James Freeman Norma Harrison Cynthia Jackson Gloria Johnson Alberta Jones Conya Kossie Lois Lee Dorothy Eke O Duru Georgette Session Felecia Lee
Each one graciously accepted the task. They contacted members in their area and explained their concern. Each one scheduled homes in their area for each weekly meeting. All meetings are held in homes with the exception of ARM and WARM Ministries. They meet in the Gate House.

Our attendance in 2006 was 569. We are expecting “Even Greater Things” in 2008.

Why do we emphasize PRAYER? It is our only access to our Heavenly Father. We know that His awesome character far surpasses our lowly estate. Thanks be to God for His unspeakable love and power He bestows on us daily. Great is God’s faithfulness. His mercies are new every morning.

The prayer, praise and fellowship that we share during the month of August far surpasses our oneness. It strengthens our ability to see how God can and will release His power, might, and strength when we fervently pray.

James 5:16 tell us to, “Confess your faults to one another, and pray one for another, that you may be healed. The effectual fervent prayers of the righteous availeth much.”

COME AND JOIN US IN PRAYER IN THE HOMES.
