Greetings from Atlanta, GA. As I reflect on the life, love and legacy of Lady Rosie Lee Smith, I am reminded of the greeting in John's epistle: To the elect lady whom we love in the truth. She was a stalwart and great model for me as a young man to see the example of Christ and what a godly helpmate means to a man striving to serve and lead God's people. We mourn her passing on, but we also celebrate her attainment of God's reward for a job well done. Our prayers are with Pastor Smith and the Golden Gate Family.

Michael & Lillie Robertson (04.19.2008 @ 08:49:24)
Our prayers go out to Pastor Smith and his family. We have been truly blessed over the years to have been graced with a woman who loved God with her whole heart and soul. She will be truly missed by all.

Deacon and Mrs. R.A. Session (04.18.2008 @ 23:24:52)
As we look back over Sister Rosie Lee Hartfield Smith years at Golden Gate MBC, we remember a person who was dedicated to Christ and her church family. Her Christian attributes were always on display. She was eloquent, charitable, wise and Christ like in every way. She was very supportive of Pastor Smith's Ministry and the mission of winning souls for Christ. Her spirit touched many lives. We will miss her. The Senior's Ministry

Rev. K. Workman (04.18.2008 @ 22:38:32)
My family and I pray God's blessings upon the Smith family. We encourage pastor Smith to keep doing what he's doing. He is such an insprirations to all preachers and pastors.

Sis. Toma Brown Fowler (04.18.2008 @ 21:25:11)
A death has occurred and everything is changed by this event. We are painfully aware that life can never be the same again, that yesterday is over, that relationships once rich have ended. The fact that Sis. Smith left behind a place that cannot be filled is a high tribute to her. Life can be the same after a trinket has been lost, but never after the lost of a treasure. The"treasured life" of Sis. Smith will be remembered eternally. Praise God for whom all blessings flow. May God continue to shower you with His love,

Hollie Lloyd (04.18.2008 @ 19:10:12)

Rev. Smith, one of the many lesson you taught our family is Earth has no sorrows that heaven can not heal. Sis. Smith will truly be missed. May God continue to keep you in his perfect PEACE.

Tommy & Vernita Bowie (04.18.2008 @ 14:27:16)
Pastor Smith, while having grown up at Golden Gate and having heard hundreds of sermons that you delivered, the most powerful one has been the one you lived as a faithful and devoted husband to Sis. Rosie Lee Smith until death. God bless you for showing that by His grace we can make and keep a "till death do us part" commitment. As you have so many times sought to comfort others, we pray that you may be comforted with that same comfort that only our Heavenly Father provides. May God continue to bless and keep you.

Henrietta L. Adams (04.18.2008 @ 14:10:06)
Pastor Smith, I am thankful to have met and shared endearing times with Sis. Rosie Lee Smith. She gave encouraging words of wisdom to all, which impacted the lives of many in a positive way. I am thankful to be one of them. The dignity and beauty of her presence exemplified the heart of a godly woman. May God provide you continually with His comfort, strength, and love during this time of bereavement! Be of good courage, for she has now overcome the pain and sorrows of this world; having transitioned to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. With Comfort and Blessings to you and the family.

Pastor Emeritus Smith, you are forever in the hearts of so many people. I am praying that God will sustain you during this hour as I know he has in so many previous moments in your life. The love, memories and years that you shared with Sis. Smith will never fade nor die. It will be in your darkest moments that you will cling to those precious memories and find peace. I pray that you will find rest in the loving arms of Jesus for he is your Dwelling place.

Cheryl A. Jackson (04.18.2008 @ 10:37:36)
The Lord took a look around his garden on tuesday and said , "I have need for another rose" and took Sis. Smith on home to her just reward. Grace,Elegance,Kindness, and an ever present Smile, that is how I will remember her.Thank You both for showing us all how to carry our selves in and out of church, and how to grow in Christ. Pastor Smith you used to sing with the youth choir a song that I will always remember that holds true for you during this time. Time is filled with swift transition, build your hopes on things eternal," HOLD TO GODS UNCHANGING HAND." I Love You!!! ! !!!

Sitrena Edwards (04.18.2008 @ 09:57:04)
To Rev. Smith and the Golden Gate Family. You are in our prayers. GOD was ready for his angel. I know that Sis. Smith is rejoicing up in heaven along with my mother (Ruby Matthews) and others. Thank you for the many sermons that you have blessed us with. My family and I enjoyed sharing Thanksgiving dinner with both you and Sis. Smith. We will all miss her beautiful smile and words of encouragement. Our prayer is that GOD will continue to wrap his loving arms around you and give you the strength to go on. May GOD Bless you and your family. Sunlight Baptist Church in Beaumont, Texas offers their condolence. We Love You.
