To Pastor Smith and the Golden Gate family with whom you shared your loving wife with for so many years, Sis. Smith was the epitome of a "1st Lady". I believe that Maya Angelou refers to a woman such as Sis. Smith when she wrote ?A woman?s heart should be so hidden in Christ, that a man should have to seek ?Him? first to find her? a derivative of Col. 3:2-3 ?Set your mind on things above, not on the things that are on earth. For you have died and your life is hidden with Christ in God.? Sis. Smith was certainly "hid" in the arms of Christ and Rev. Smith, you sought Christ and for that he blessed you with a beautiful "Rose" that will last a lifetime. Continue to seek "Him". We pray your strength now and forever more. God Bless You and We Love You.

It is with deep regret that and I cannot be there with you in person. However, please be assured that I am praying for you. I want you to know that I share in your sorrows and your joys. I am sure you experience sorrow because one you love very dearly has gone from your presence. I also know that you experience some joy at this time because Sister Smith has moved from her tent in which she has lived for many years. Now she will live forever in a house, where God is the builder and owner. Despite the leaving of Sister Smith, please be assured that God never leaves nor forsakes his children. To Reverend C. B. T. Smith and each member of the family, these words are seasoned with my love and the love of God. God proved his love for us when he sent his Son into the world to die for our sins. He continues to prove his love for us by placing people in our lives who love us. Please accept these brief words as a token of love from Reverend George T. Brooks, Sr., Pastor of the Saint James Missionary Baptist Church.

Sis. Smith was a First Class 1st lady and the epitome of a truly virtuous woman! I praise God for the opportunity to have been born and raised in Golden Gate and the bountiful blessing to have grown up in the presence of two beautiful and Godly people in the persons of Dr. C.B.T. and Mrs. Rosie Lee Smith. What an example! Pastor Smith, I am praying for your strength and comfort during the days to come. God will continue to keep you and use you in a mighty way. Thank you for sharing Sis. Smith with us as she was an exceptional example of how to be a well poised, wonderful wife and woman. May God continue to bless you!

Sis. Smith was the epitome of class. As a child I would love to just see her walk in the sanctuary with such glowing grace, at the time I did not know that it was the "holy spirit" that had her shinning that bright to me. I just knew I would LOVE to just see her coming. And as I got older, it's like the song says, "You have the Iook I would know her better. Thank you Sis. Smith for just walking into a room.
