YOUTH ANNOUNCEMENTS

GOD SAID "LET THERE BE LIGHT"

I recently read a story that said you can measure light, but you can't measure darkness. It said that darkness is just the absence of light. When the sun goes down we experience darkness- but then again, we've got florescent, incandescent, LED, hydrogen, xenon, and neon lights! In our society and in our way of living we don't ever really have to experience darkness. We can have day all night!

Long before Thomas Edison (and his able assistants) invented the lightbulb, people from all ages, times, and generations have sought ways to repel the darkness. Funny thing is- a few days before man ever existed God had already separated light from darkness. Now-a-days we seem to be looking for ways to have dark and light at the same time. It's not like chicken or turkey- there's no mixed box with spicy and mild, wings and thighs. No, we like to fill our minds with all kinds of things and expect to be able to say godly things when it counts. We say that true love waits while we're actually waiting for our next real chance to get some love.

Light and darkness cannot coexist. We're called to be light. After all, we ARE the light of the world.

See... and ,be the light with us! Sunday, November 15. See you there!
