ARM Aftercare

Aftercare is an optional six month program offered to participants who have successfully completed Primary Care. Aftercare provides men with an opportunity to slowly transition back into their communities.
While in Aftercare, participants continue to receive inpatient services as they seek and obtain employment, while continuing attendance at outside AA/NA meetings. In addition, Aftercare incorporates two classes: Money Management and Social Skills Enrichment.
Each establishes a budget and learns to save money and is encouraged to pay off bad debt through payment plans. The men begin purchasing supplies for their future residence and save for a car and apartment upon completion of the program.
Individuals who enter the program without a high school diploma or GED are given the opportunity to attend a six-week GED program. Job reading skills, which include resume writing, interview techniques, and job-search skills are offered to all participants to assist them with transitioning into the workforce.
Working with staff, they set a personal recovery plan, which includes behaviors and tasks they need to practice daily to stay clean and sober. Clients are also encouraged to participate in scheduled family activities that include a family picnic, visit to Six Flags amusement park, movies, bowling and more. Partnerships have been established with the City of Dallas Parks and Recreation for health and fitness activities.
We have also partnered with World Vision for volunteer opportunities, Home Sweet Home, Texas Work Force and Parkland Health Care mobile unit to provide resources to clients.
