Intervention

The purpose for the ARM Intervention Program is to minister to the needs of men who have completed the program, but have fallen back into a lifestyle of drug and alcohol abuse.

We minister to these men primarily through the combination of Bible teaching and providing the necessary tools for intervention and prevention. We feel that instead of bringing former ARM program participants back through Primary Care, the needs of these individuals would be better met by refocusing them back on the Christian lifestyle and educating them specifically in areas of relapse and recovery. Such issues, for example, would include teaching on how they can be restored, relapse prevention, identifying "triggers" (those factors that may have led up to the relapse), and providing a deeper understanding of emotional issues, family matters, relationships and occupational concerns.

The Need For Intervention
According to national statistics, individuals who have received treatment for drug and alcohol abuse that, in turn, remain sober for a full year, is at an alarmingly low rate of two percent! ARM’s rate of full recovery is significantly higher, however, we have noticed more and more men who have either completed or have been a part of the ARM program, and have, in turn, fallen back into a lifestyle of drinking and drug abuse. These men have a basic understanding of the Biblical principles and the 12 steps, yet have returned to us for further treatment. We feel that it is incumbent upon us to minister to these men at their individual point of need. Instead of having them start all over, we will give them the opportunity to use the tools that we've already taught them in a structured environment, and make the transition back to living a victorious life.
