Pastor Vincent T. Parker Biography
As Pastor/Teacher, I view my role as a leader who is the lead servant. The model of leadership left by Jesus Christ was one characterized by an attitude of servanthood and self-sacrifice. A ministry characterized by love and devotion to God and creative innovation in service to others is my goal.
I accepted Christ as my personal Savior at the age of seven. I received my ordination in March 1, 1986 by the Baptist Ministers’ Conference of Washington, D.C. and Vicinity. I have traveled and served abroad to countries such as Kenya, Uganda, Egypt, Israel and Italy. I have been the Pastor of Golden Gate Missionary Baptist Church for 16 years. Under my pastoral leadership, I have designed a ministry characterized by love and devotion to God and creative innovation in service to others. I am also committed to the development of a team ministry approach, which allows individuals to exercise their spiritual gifts for the growth and maturity of the body of Christ. Through this approach to ministry, programs such as the Adult Rehabilitation Ministry (ARM), Outreach Ministry, Prison Ministry, Senior’s Ministry, and building projects such as church remodeling and “The Gate House” have brought change and servitude to the community.
One of my goals as Pastor is to reach and disciple African-American men who will then minister to the African American family, which is the foundation of the local community. Through expository preaching and teaching of God’s word, I want to equip both men and women for ministry to their families, church and community.
I received my Master of Theology from the Dallas Theological Seminary, and I am member of the North Texas Regional Convention of the Missionary Baptist General Convention of Texas. My wife Janice S. Parker joins me in ministry as she has developed a program designed for the enrichment of women in ministry. We are the parents of three beautiful children Maggie, Moriah, and Mekhi Parker.
